Progetto editoriale realizzato all’interno del corso di illustrazione della prof.ssa Serena Riglietti.
Nella trilogia fantascientifica di Douglas Adams intitolata “Guida galattica per gli autostoppisti”, viene descritto un dispositivo simile ad un libro interattivo, esso vuole essere un enciclopedia aggiornabile dagli autostoppisti che si trovano a spasso nell’universo. Caratteristica specifica di tale dispositivo è che sulla copertina si trova una scritta a grandi caratteri che dice: “DON’T PANIC”.
Il mio progetto vuole essere un omaggio a questo scrit- tore lungimirante che con un anticipo di 20 anni prevede l’attuale Wikipedia e l’invenzione dei tablet e smartphone.
Ho pensato al libro come una serie di schede di facile fruizione, divise per categorie che illustrano i vari argomenti descritti dalla Guida. Il libro include un kit “essenziale per l’autostoppista galattico”, esso comprende un asciugamano e la riproduzione di un “Pesce Babele” da usare in caso di necessità per tradurre lingue intergalattiche!

In Douglas Adams’ science fiction trilogy entitled “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy”, is described a device similar to an interactive book , it is similar to an encyclopedia that can be updated by hitchhikers who are wandering around the universe. A specific feature of this device is that on the cover there is an inscription in large letters that says: “DON’T PANIC”.
My project wants to be a tribute to this forward-looking writer who foresees the current Wikipedia, the invention of tablets and smartphones 20 years in advance.
I thought of the book as a series of easy-to-use cards, divided into categories that illustrate the various topics described in the Guide. The book includes an “essential kit for the galactic hitchhiker”, it includes a towel and a reproduction of a “Babel Fish” to use in case of need to translate intergalactic languages!
